Project Manager — Residential
About this company
Mercury Projects is a building and construction company based in North Sydney. With decades of experience in residential construction, we have established a reputation of delivering high end luxury homes that exceed client’s expectations. Now we are seeking an experienced project manager to join our Sydney team.
Reporting to the Director, the project manager’s job will be focused on working collaboratively with the other consultants (i.e. architects, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors) to deliver successful luxury home projects on time, on budget and within scope.
For this role, a minimum of 5 years working in residential construction field is a must. Salary and bonus will be negotiated commensurate with experience.
Duties and responsibilities of this role:
• Manage, oversee and coordinate the construction work of luxury residential homes build;
• Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and within scope;
• Ensure projects are complied with safety, quality and environmental standards and to meet client’s requirements;
• Read and interpret planning and construction drawings;
• Project planning, scheduling, cost control, budgeting and risk reporting;
• Assistance with obtaining building permits, tender preparation and submission (if applicable) and procurement of material and equipment;
• Liaising with clients and all other consultants, including architects, engineers, surveyors, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the life cycle of the project;
• Manage all personnel, equipment and materials on site;
• Administer all project documentation, including contracts;
• Oversee quality, time and cost management procedures, and lead the team to drive project progress and success;
• Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety standards;
Skills and experiences required for this role:
• Tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering or Project Management Discipline;
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working on residential construction projects;
• Demonstrated experience in planning, managing and delivering projects to a high standard;
• In-depth understanding of building codes, legislations, residential construction procedures, materials and project management principles;
• Commitment to delivering projects on time and on budget;
• Attention to detail and accuracy;
• Excellent communication skills both in written and verbal;
• Proficiency with construction software, scheduling, programming, Microsoft Office applications and Procore;
• A proven leader and capable of developing a high performing team with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
